There was once this person who kept speaking in metaphors. And while that wasn't all that bad in itself... Argh, what am I saying, it was horrible. I don't even know why I still deemed him as a friend. This reminded me of the phrase, "strangest people are the best". I guess I am contradicting myself once again. Anyway, my friend—however much I want to deny it, he is one—one day, he came up with the idea of "Plum clouds". Hey, don't ask me. It was him. Gosh, I was never good at describing things, and now I want to explain something that I don't even get. Wait a moment.. that's what a plum cloud is! (I both want to stop, and continue writing beyond this point) Hey, you know, I don't know why but while the name "plum clouds" is messy on its own, he reffered to messy things with that very word - plum clouds. Random as it may sound, there was some hidden correlation behind the collocation, but then again... It might have not been hidden at all. I swear to god of plum clouds, he was the only one capable of making such connection anyway. © Mouzyy Fochscrowl 2015

USING THE CREATIVE WRITING WORDS: LEMON, CLOCK, PLUM, LET GO, CLOUDS Tick tock, tick tock. You all know that sound, the time going on, the clock ticking away. You sense the rush, the speed or the slowness with which it goes by. We have grown so keen on time and on how it flows. Most of your decisions even, are based on time. For example, you probably won’t make lemonade out of those fresh lemons you bought in the morning if you don’t have time for it because you have to catch a bus. Since we make our decisions mostly based on time, it has become a key value in our society. Is it good though? Think about it. Why did we invent something to measure time with in the first place? That 24-hour cycle bringing stress and high blood pressure to a lot of people. Do you think it would be good if we didn’t care about time? If we‘d just get on any train, look up to the clouds whenever we wanted to and make plum pies in the middle of the night? You must think that it’s absurd, but it seems absurd to us because we are the ones who use time. Personally, even if we stop using and caring about time it wouldn’t be long until another way of measuring time was discovered. Even entertainment is measured with time. We’d have randomly long football matches, debates… gosh, what would that be like? We need to organise ourselves somehow but at the same time, we mustn’t let that get over us. Let’s not cancel time, okay? The world would be a mess and we’d also lose our most favourite thing about time, the moments when we forget about it. The little piece of freedom and irresponsibility coming as a reward for our usefulness. That is the important thing, when we like doing something so much that we don’t notice time. If we canceled it we’d loose that feeling and the tool we use to guide society towards order. So, agreed? Not cancelling time? Good. But let’s just maybe not keep making it such a big deal. It’ll save us a lot of breath and nerve. Let go of time…just a little bit. By © 2015 Christian Alexander Filt (Year 2, 2015/2016)

You may say, “Wow that sounds so cool!” but, trust me, it only gets better. The mere thought of sneezing out fish! You can impress your date, your boss or your mother, depending on the circumstances. Of course, there are people who would say that this sounds a bit conspicuous, or, simply, odd, but trust me! It’s 100% genuine. |
